The Dispute

Two arguments on every question

Privacy

The Dispute collects as little as it can. There is no advertising and no tracking, and we use no analytics cookies.

Votes

When you vote, your browser stores a random identifier so that it can vote only once on each debate. The identifier is not linked to your name. We store your answers with that identifier, along with a scrambled (hashed) form of your internet address that we use to stop automated voting. The scrambling changes daily and cannot be reversed into your address.

Comments

When you comment, we publish the name you give and your comment. If you add an email address, only the editors see it. We use it solely to contact you about your comment. We remove comments on request: write to us.

Contact form

Messages sent through the contact form are emailed to the editors and kept so that we can reply. We delete them on request.

Newsletter

The newsletter is run by Substack. When you subscribe, Substack’s own privacy policy applies.

Bot protection

Voting, commenting and the contact form use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated programs. Turnstile does not set tracking cookies. Cloudflare also hosts this site.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Write to us using the contact form.
